Considerations in the perioperative period:
- FFP 10-20 ml/Kg should correct PT to near normal for 12-24h
- Cryoprecipitate also used: higher conc of FVIII and fibrinogen
- Platelet transfusion indicated if <60.000
- Vitamin K 10mg SC x3d, only effective if cholestatic disease
- RBC transfusion can precipitate encephalopathy due to nitrogen load
- rFVII only for bleeding not responding to other measures, Relatively contraindicated in DIC
