ACLS: ETT confirmation

Once a coding patient is intubated, the provider should still do an assessment of ETT positioning (do not let ongoing CPR get in the way of your assessment). This includes visualizing chest expansion bilaterally, listening over the epigastrum and bilateral lung fields.Continuous waveform capnography in addition to clinical assessment is recommended as the most reliable method of confirming and monitoring correct placement of an ETT (AHA Class 1 recommendation, LOE A).
