- POCUS: Basic Transthoracic Echo (TTE)
- POCUS: Advanced Transthoracic Echo (TTE)
- POCUS: Lung Ultrasound
Learn point of care ultrasound (POCUS) for basic and advanced Transthoracic Echocardiography (TTE) and Lung Ultrasound using the videos posted in this section. These short didactic videos are intended to help you learn how to acquire and interpret POCUS images for the evaluation of the cardiovascular and pulmonary systems.
Videos on TTE are divided into basic and advanced. The basic TTE section covers the fundamentals of ultrasound physics, image acquisition for the standard transthoracic views, and qualitative evaluation of cardiac function. The advanced TTE section introduces you to quantitative assessments of cardiovascular function. Videos on Lung Ultrasound cover the evaluation of pulmonary edema (cardiogenic vs non-cardiogenic), pleural effusion, pneumothorax, and confirmation of endotracheal tube position (esophageal vs endobronchial vs endotracheal).
The integration of TTE and Lung Ultrasound yields a unique and robust appraisal of acute cardiovascular, pulmonary, and hemodynamic conditions that is extremely valuable for patients in the perioperative arena.
More videos will be posted periodically for all sections.
